Without a permanent home for the better part of ten years, I’ve travelled to more than fifty countries around the world, with an average budget of less than $10 per day, including flights, accommodations, food and entertainment. Staying in places for longer periods of time, and staying with host families (instead of in hostels or hotels) not only lowers costs, but infinitely enriches the experience and contact with local culture. I am not somebody who moves quickly from place to place, trying to see and photograph every site imaginable before moving on; those aren’t the types of stories you’ll find here.

What I hope to share are some interesting insights into everyday life, and a different way of travelling to exotic places, including many tips and secrets that have allowed me to do this with only nine months of paid work in the past thirteen years.
